KELIS

In 2006 Kelis shocked the world by coming out with a fresh new sound and new fashion forward image to go with it. When other artist were satisfied with sparkling tops and Diana Ross style manes Kelis was serving you FASHION. She declared her "Bossy"ness with a sassy attitude that only she could deliver.
Now after a tumultuous divorce with hip hop legend Nas, Kelis is ready to make the world DANCE DANCE DANCE. Is she crying in a corner somewhere? No! She has transformed yet again into a strong, futuristic, warrior goddess. With her latest offering "Acapella" we see that she has found a new joy in life, being a mother. There will be no more "bringing the boys to the yard" because the new boy in her life is the one SHE gave life to.

KATIE EARY

London based menswear designer Katie Eary's work is definitely making waves in the fashion world. Immediately after graduating from the Royal School of Art in 2008, she was contacted by British Vogue for a spread with Mario Testino shooting her graduate peices on Kate Moss.
The running thread between her collections seems to be a somewhat macabre, militant, hi street fashion approach with a contemporary pop-art twist. So fresh.

This collection was the first men's collection in a while to really inspire and breathe nu life into us. The hardware alone is enough for us to survive off of.
(SS10)
Just when we thought the bomb had maxed, we found that the FW10 collection was just as giving. The mix of textures, bold color and iridescent shine is so fit!

JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS
Lately we have been obsessed with the animated series Jem & The Holograms. I was too young to experience the show when it first aired in the late 80s but thanks to youtube I can get my Jem fix anytime! Speaking of fixes, look what happens when one of the starlight girls develops a small drug habit.

VALENTIN TOLEDO.
Valentin is an amazing artist who has worked for important European magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle etc. as fashion editor/photographer in back in the 70s and 80s. Now he focuses on doing Mondrian inspired (I say that because of the sole useage of primary color within black and white) paintings on glass.

(Machine Repairing an Egg)
He's now working on a new series on paintings called 'Portraits,' where I got to be the lucky candidate to be shot in the nude to be put on glass and painted over. Here are some SFW photos from the shoot:
